In response to the coronavirus outbreak, as of Wednesday, March 18, 2020, the IRS has confirmed that the PAYMENT DUE DATE has been extended until July 15, 2020.
This means, if you owe Federal taxes on your 2019 tax return and/or your 1st Quarter Estimate for 2020, the payment is not due until July 15, 2020. Most importantly, no penalties or interest will be assessed on these payments until the extended due date of July 15th.
This is an automatic extension - you DO NOT need to file any forms to qualify for this payment extension.
This is an extension of time to PAY taxes NOT an extension of time to FILE your 2019 tax return / 1st Quarter 2020 Estimate.
Even if you owe and plan to take advantage of this extension, be sure to file the return by the April 15th deadline to avoid penalties.
This extension applies to Federal taxes owed only! It does not apply to state or local tax payments due.
We will update the main page as and when new information becomes available. Please check back periodically.
